Goals and Objectives
Strategic Goal #3

To increase the retention rate and recruitment of outstanding students by strengthening all programs, by attracting eminent scholars, by retaining current faculty, and by modernizing laboratories and computer facilities.

The Chemical Engineering Department at Louisiana State University is consistently ranked among the nation's top 20 chemical engineering departments in undergraduate enrollment and degrees. More than 60 graduates teach or have taught in universities across the nation and around the world. Current enrollment is over 350 students, indicative of the strong job market in the chemical engineering industry.

The graduate program was ranked 50th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for 2004.

3.1 To increase retention rate of the undergraduates in the program and strengthen the program as a whole, making it comparable to that of our Peer and Benchmark institutions.
