Shell Oil Incentive Fund Scholarship

Shell Oil Company Corporate Affairs Social Investment Department provides scholarship support through the Shell Incentive Fund Program to outstanding students who are pursuing a bachelor degree in a technical field of study.
The Program scope is as follows :

  • Each scholarship award is for $5,000 per year
  • The institution will recieve and administer the funds
  • Half the award amount ($2,500) is payable during each eligible semester (fall or spring).
  • Nominations received by July 15 are eligible for fall and spring semester scholarships. Nominations received after July 15 and prior to November 15 are eligible for spring semester scholarships.
  • The fund is used towards the student's actual tuition and/or normal cost of living. Institutional support is provided for each selected student.
  • Recipient nominations are accepted through educational institutions and Shell Attraction and Recruitment Campus Teams, not from individuals.

Eligibility requirements are:

  • Sophomore or above as of the fall semester of the funding year.
  • Full-time student enrolled in an institution participating in the Shell Incentive Funds program.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above by the conclusion of his or her freshman year. A cumulative GPA of 3.2 must be maintained for the scholarship to be awarded each year there after.
  • Of race/ethnicity designation under-represented in the technical/science academic areas. To be eligible, nominees must be Black (Not of Hispanic Origin), Latino, American Indian, or Alaskan Native.
  • Eligible Majors:
    Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geophysical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geology, Geophysics and physics.
  • U.S. Citizen or otherwise legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Student must participate in Shell interview process.
  • Student agrees to commit to a Shell Oil Company internship if offered prior to December 1st of the funding year.
