The AIChE Centennial Celebration
in 2008

In 2008, not only is the Department of Chemical Engineering celebrating its centennial year but the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is as well.

AIChE has many activities planned for its celebration and they have created "40 Mileposts of Professional Progress" to track the organization’s and the industry’s progress and change over the last century. Last year AIChE initiated departments nationwide to assist in the preparations for their centennial celebration by asking department’s to prepare 2 mini-histories for prominent individuals in Chemical Engineering associated with the departments. Our department was more than happy to take part in this endeavor. Please visit the AIChE website to view the mini-histories for Armando Corripio and Paul Murrill as well as to view submissions from other universities.
